Extreme Makeover: Dock Edition
We are in the bid/design phase on this fixer-upper. There are a few important steps involved with this kind of project. First step is to design a repair that will be safe, functional, and within customer’s budget (not everyone has the budget to completely replace a dock). Next is to present the engineering plans to the Tarrant County Waterboard to make sure it meets code. For those who aren’t aware, codes change over the years and existing structures are usually grandfathered in. However, few know that when you begin making major repairs to a structure, you MAY be required to bring the entire thing up to code. After completing these two steps the third step is to make sure that the work goes as planned and the customer is happy with the results and confident that they made the right choices on which directions to spend money.
